Obituary of Erma Maxine Greenwood

Erma Greenwood died on November 23, 2022 at her home in New Plymouth, Idaho at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 17 days. Her heart slowly gave out, and her passing was without pain, a blessing for which her family and friends are eternally grateful. Erma Maxine Isaacson was born on August 6, 1931 in her grandparents' home on their farm near Courtland, Kansas. She was the first child of Edward Isaacson and Frances Julia Briggs Isaacson. She was married to Donald Ray Greenwood on December 31, 1950. Over the years, the family lived in locations in Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, and Utah as her husband Donald found employment in Farming, Dairy, and Hay Hauling. They both served faithfully in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In later years, Erma was a key part of Don's business of turning tractor tires inside out to function as feeders and water tanks for ranchers and farmers. Few people remember Don & Erma's names, but there are many people in Idaho and throughout the surrounding states who know "The Tire Man" and his wife. Erma was preceded in death by her husband Donald, by one sister, and by one grandchild. She is survived by her siblings Ralph, Lois, Rita, Duane, and Rex, by her four children, James (Helen), Mary Lou (Rob), Vicki, and Bob (Susan), by 15 grandchildren, and by 36 great-grandchildren.
