Obituary of Ida Louise Garcia-Morton

Ida Garcia-Morton, 77, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022. She suffered from Parkinson's disease. While Ida was born in San Antonio, TX, she grew up in northern California attending schools in the Stockton area. She made many lifelong memories on her aunt and uncle Cedillo's property. Ida later went on to create an exciting career at Lockheed Martin and Hewlett-Packard, from which she retired. It was at Lockheed Martin in 1977 where she met the love of her life (after playing hard to get) and soul mate, Jim. They married in 1979 and blended their families. Ida was Jim's angel, to quote him, "she made me a better man and put me back on the correct path." During their 43 years of marriage, Ida and Jim were involved in the Healey car club and loved to travel with their 1964 Austin Healey all along the west coast up to British Columbia visiting many wineries. They made many lifelong friends in the Classic car scene. Ida touched many lives during her time on Earth. It brings her family and friends comfort knowing so many people experienced her infectious laugh, hearty smile, words of wisdom, and love. She was a small woman who carried a big "chancla." She opened her door to every kid on the block and beyond, they knew her house was a safe place. They also knew Miss Ida "Nana" would feed them no matter what, as she loved to cook for everyone. She had a huge heart and a lot of love to spread around. Ida volunteered for many years in the church organizations she attended. She believed her faith kept her strong and lived a life of servitude. While Ida had two biological children of her own, Tina and Raul, she also had 2 stepsons James H and Stephen, along with fostering Hermann and Jorge. She was often referred to as a mother to others whom she accepted into her home and raised as her own. All her grandchildren called her "Nana" and so did other children who were blessed enough to have known her. When Ida and Jim moved back to Caldwell, Idaho she met her BFF and angel, June Dugan - these two were two peas in a pod. They both loved gardening and spending time with each other. June helped Ida several times during the hard days of the Parkinson's until she went into the Memory care facility. She was a true angel and best friend for Ida, and we are grateful. Ida is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James E. Morton, her children Raul (Adriana) Garcia, Tina (Brian) Garcia-Golden, Jim H, Stephen (Deborah) Morton, Jorge (Miriam) Villegas, Hermann (Kristina) Duerkop, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her family would like to thank the staff at Park Place Memory care for taking such good care of Ida during her time there.
