Obituary of Carol Jennell Needs

Carol Jennell Needs, 66, of Payette, passed away March 7, 2022 at a Boise hospital from complications of Covid 19. Carol was born May 21, 1955 to Harold and Lola Barnett who resided on the Oregon Slope outside of Ontario. Carol attended Pioneer Elementary, Ontario Jr. High, and graduated from Ontario High School. Carol was a friendly girl who had countless friends and kept lifelong relationships with many of them. Carol married Gary Needs in 1979, and they would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this coming June. Carol and Gary had a wonderful life together and were parents to Jennell, Jared and Erin. They always planted a huge garden, and Carol would spend the summers harvesting and canning her vegetables. Carol was a great cook and hosted many holiday dinners with her kids and extended family. Everyone was welcome at her table. Carol loved sewing, baking, watching movies, TV, and reading. Carol and Gary enjoyed camping and spent a lot of time at Brownlee Reservoir fishing and having fun. Carol was a wonderful stay at home mom and taught preschool for a number of years. They also started their own business, Natural Tree Service, which they recently turned over to their son, Jared and his wife, Kristine. Carol adored her children and was thrilled to be a loving grandma to Reed, Scott, Declan, Alicia, Jake and Britany. She was a generous, loving sister and aunt as well. Carol took care of anyone who was in need and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Carol is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Jennell Hall & her husband Corbin, son Jared Needs & his wife Kristine and daughter Erin Wiebe, grandsons Reed & Scott Needs, Declan Hall and granddaughters Alicia Gardner and Britany Segura. Carol is survived by her sisters and their husbands: Sandy & Bill Reynolds of Emmett, Kate & Steve Miller of Boise, Belle & George Prough and Joan Kimball of Emmett, Wanda Neely and Betty Jo & John Hyatt of Duffield, VA and her aunt, Wilma Blessing of Gate City, VA, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol is also survived by her special brothers-in-law Dennis & Sandy Garner of Michigan and Kimber Nielson of Emmett and sisters-in-law June & Gerald Burke and Jeanette Waddell of Michigan. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lola Barnett, grandson Jake Wiebe, along with her sisters, Maggie Dunlap, Phyllis Nielson, Judy Garner and her brothers H.P. Jones and Roger Barnett. A viewing has been scheduled for March 18th from 9 am to 12 pm at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Payette, followed by a dinner at the Payette Methodist Church located at 501 N. 11th Street. Service Details.
