Lucille Elaine Bischoff, 95, passed away December 24, 2021 at home in New Plymouth, Idaho. She was born January 18, 1926 to Paul William and Elsie Henrietta (Mallig) Kelpin. Soon after, the family moved to Grass Valley, California and she said she learned to walk on the train. In 1928, the family moved to Payette, Idaho, where they remained. Lucille was a hard worker and picked fruit throughout her adolescence for school clothes. In 1943 she and her sister Marion graduated from Payette HS and moved to Boise, where Lucille soon met a dashing young man, Herman Bischoff, a Sergeant in the Air Force. They married on July 5, 1945 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, Oregon. They lived in Payette several years where their two sons were born, then HJ was recalled to active duty. Soon, they were living in Tripoli, Libya, where they spent several years. They returned to Travis AFB, and then on to Mountain Home, Idaho where they spent the next 42 years. Lucille drove school bus for 16 years and she and Herman were faithful members of Faith Lutheran Church, where they made many lifelong friends. In 2001 they moved to Payette, Idaho to be near family. After Herman passed in 2010, Lucille spent more time with her two sisters, and they were affectionately known as "The Three Musketeers". Lucille loved her family with her whole heart and faithfully prayed for them daily.
