Obituary of Marie Louise Boyer

Marie passed away November 9, 2021, at The Cottages Assisted Living and Memory Care Center in Payette, Idaho where she had resided for the past 3 � years. Marie Louise Boswell was born September 15, 1923, to Lewis Lang Boswell and Bertha Johns Boswell in Ontario, Oregon. Marie grew up in Malheur City, Oregon on a ranch and they were also gold miners. She attended grade school in Malheur City, and high school in Ontario Oregon graduating in 1942. She attended most 1942 class reunions until she was into her 90's. She married William (Bill) Orin Boyer July 9, 1944, in Ontario Oregon. They were married 63 years at the time of Bill's passing in 2007. To this union they had six children. Twin girls Sherry and Terry, James (Jim), Patricia (Patty), Donna, and John. They lived in Salem, Oregon for a few years, then moved back to Payette, Idaho . They bought a fruit farm on Washoe Road in 1957. Marie ran the fruit farm along with her parents and their fruit farm while Bill worked as an Auto Body technician. In her spare time, she was a boy scout leader, secretary/timer for the boat racing club, sewing seamstress for the kids' clothes, formals, wedding dresses, loved making quilts in her later years, crocheted, and was a wonderful cook. Marie was the most thoughtful person when it came to writing/sending cards and letters for EVERY occasion to all her family and friends. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Malheur Historical Society for many years. After graduating she worked in the Idaho Power office in Payette, then later in retail business in the 70's for Rock's Dept. Store, Opal's Boutique, and Western Auto. She ended her working career at Baker's Shoe Store where she worked for 25 plus years when retiring. The Boyer family spent time boat racing, camping, water skiing, hunting, fishing with many family BBQ's and family dinner get togethers. Their annual vacation was spent near McCall, Idaho at the Upper Payette Lake where many great memories were made including Huckleberry harvesting. Marie and Bill became Camp Hosts for the US Forest Service for many years at the Lost Valley Cold Springs Campground and the Goose Lake area also. They loved the great outdoors and made many friends that were like family throughout the years. After her husband's passing Marie remained in Payette for several years, then traveling to Challis, Idaho, Riggins Idaho, Olancha, California, and Baker City where she stayed with her children until she moved to The Cottages Assisted Living in 2018. She embraced her new home at The Cottages as "a very elegant place and makes me feel like a queen". She was proceeded by her parents, husband Bill of 63 years, and son-in-law David Allen Pollentier. She is survived by her children Sherry Kerner Fruitland, Idaho, Terry Pollentier Baker City, Oregon, Jim (Margaret) Boyer Payette, Idaho, Patty (Bob) Olin Olancha, California, Donna (Dick) Harriman Battle Mountain, Nevada, John Boyer (Kathy Gatchel) Riggins, Idaho and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
