Obituary of Ronnie Jerrell Keatley

Ronnie Jerrell Keatley was born in the quiet rural town of Mandeville, West Virginia on July 30th, 1938 to Clark and Ruby Keatley, and passed away on the night of October 20th, 2021 in his equally quiet and rural home located in Payette, Idaho. He was surrounded with an abundance of love and support by his family. It was during his youth in West Virginia that Ronnie adapted the traits that he eventually would always be known and remembered for - hard work, dedication to family and friends, and an unwavering faith and love of God. After moving to California while a senior in high school in 1957, Ronnie began what would become his life career of 38 years with the aerospace manufacturing company McDonnell Douglas, followed by six years with the shipping company Roadway. Sometime after starting his family with his wife Karen, Ronnie pursued a college education and graduated with an associate degree from Rio Hondo College in 1973. After retirement, Ronnie had a variety of passions and hobbies that he practiced for the remainder of his life, the greatest of which being his study of family genealogy. In particular, Ronnie dedicated thousands of hours to researching, compiling, and organizing his family's ancestry. Some other hobbies he had included caring for his lawn and garden, doing large puzzles, going to church, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Despite his age, Ronnie also had a deep passion for computers, which he could be found using on a daily basis. Ronnie was a kind, caring, and very enjoyable man to be around. His sense of humor could make anyone laugh, and he had the unique ability of making even the most dire of challenges feel possible. He was wise, hardworking, and loving. While his presence, voice, and touch will always be missed, his spirit will forever continue to watch over his family from Heaven, where he is now and forever will be in peace. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Karen, his two sisters Sharon Bjorklund and Drema Bistline, both of Payette, ID, his three children, Brian (Nanci) Keatley of Salem, OR, Susan (Leonard) Coons of Clearfield, UT, and Michelle (Marc) French of Fruitland, ID, his ten grandchildren, Carissima Keatley, Joshua (Anezka) Keatley, David Keatley, Jessica (Ty) Anderson, Mary Keatley, Benjamin French, Cody Coons, Brandon Coons, Victoria French, and Lauren French, and his four great grandchildren Ry Anderson, Willow Coons, Emily Keatley, and Juniper Coons.
