Fruitland__ Pauline Pennington, 98, passed away on Nov. 2, 2023 at Dorian Assisted Living. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery Payette.

She was born July 8, 1925 in Payette, ID, the daughter of O.R. and Myrtle Wood and big sister to Don, Peggy and Patricia. She attended Washoe School and graduated from Payette High School in 1943. After graduating she worked as an overhead welder on the Liberty ships in Portland, then put herself through beauty school and bought a beauty shop in Payette.

She married Eugene Pennington on Dec. 14, 1946. She was a farm wife, beautician and also worked at Ore-Ida until she retired.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Brenda) of Asotin, WA and Douglas, Ontario, OR, four grandchildren, Sheryl Pennington-Bell, Clayton Pennington, Stefanie Garcia, and Randy Pennington, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandsons, sister-in-law Ann Wood and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings.
